Sign Controller & local DMS software
Adaptive’s LED DMS solutions are controlled and integrated into NTCIP–compatible ITS systems by a proven and flexible sign controller. Designed small and lightweight, it is easily integrated into a full size ground cabinet, pole mount cabinet, or installed directly in the DMS. User interface options include a local keyboard and LCD display. Central and local connections are made via RS232 or RS485 data ports and network integration options include Ethernet, Dial-up, Fiber Optic, or Wireless.
NTCIP –Compliant Control Software
Adaptive’s NTCIP sign software is fully integrated with Microsoft standards for interface, network, database, and real time controls. This combination of open architecture and standards conformance means it can be fully interoperable with other systems, within a jurisdiction or in other jurisdictions, and enables customers to maximize compatibility with their existing MIS workstation and server components. The system is also available as a full client server solution.
Specialized modules are also available;
Map Interface for DMS Selection and Status view - Database logs the maintenance factors for each device, enabling reporting as required. User defined parameters are set during commissioning so that alarms will be triggered and displayed on the map when the alarm point is reached, for example pixel failure. A diagnostic grid can be opened for each device showing current status. Alarms will be raised if a fault is detected by the system during the polling process and the fault will be displayed on the grid in red to focus the attention of the operator.
- Control of other NTCIP Compliant Devices - Provides integration with ANY NTCIP implementation, in addition to DMS Signs such as CCTV cameras, Traffic Sensors, Weather Stations and any other future NTCIP device.
- GIS Mapping Interface- Shows locations of GPS equipped Portable signs as well as fixed DMS - A GIS mapping interface is available with full ESRI support to the arterial level, and is readily incorporated with either commercially developed map data, or an agency's own ESRI map base.
- Amber Alert Module - a pre-formatted Amber Alert capability enables messages to be automatically displayed on any or all DMS.
- Standard Operation Procedure Module - In the event of an incident, a Standard Operating Procedure can be activated to provide instructions to the operator regarding the necessary action required for that specific incident.
- Incident Management and Travel Time Module – Management of freeway operations through detector data collection, logging, and display, providing automated incident detection and reporting as well as real time travel time calculations for traveler information.
