Senior Quality Engineer – Milwaukee, WI

This position is charged with leading definition of quality assurance strategy and development of operating processes / structures for quality systems within Adaptive. Key focus - driving the organization to effective quality prioritization, root cause analysis, resolution and follow -up validation.
Responsible for leadership of the design, implementation and support of cost effective, efficient, responsive, and timely infrastructural systems that will achieve the expected levels of product quality and service. Position has opportunity to grow into a department management role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead quality teams domestically and internationally to effectively understand quality expectations of marketplace and how Adaptive measures relative to those expectations.
- Manage problem solving and quality improvement process. This includes applying quality tools, to preventive and corrective actions, and overcoming barriers to quality improvements. Plan, prepare, execute, and report results and follow-up on the audit process
- Manage ongoing system of customer feedback (quality oriented) into organization.
- Monitor, manage, and conduct cross-functional review of customer input and drive priority-based program based on this input. Statistical analysis – provide appropriate priority to organization related to quality issues based on customer, field, and internal data.
- Oversee the design control and validation activities within new product development. Provide quality-engineering support as it relates to new product development.
- Lead and drive continuous improvement systems, metrics, and reporting through use of tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
- Directs sampling inspection and testing of received parts, components, and materials to determine conformance standards.
- Conducts periodic and special surveys of subcontractors, facilities and manufacturing processes to determine adequacy and capability of quality control, and ability to comply with complete quality specifications.
- Prepares periodic and special reports concerning departmental activities, problems, subcontractors' quality system, schedules, and rejected terms.
- Prepare quality improvement plans and set quality performance metrics/targets.
Requirements:
- Experience managing and leading quality systems.
- Experience with quality improvement methodology and root-cause analysis (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TQM, Kan Ban, 5S).
- Bachelor of Science Degree with 5 to 10 years of experience in a quality role.
- Experience in leading implementation of new and evolving quality systems associated with electronic assembly and fabrication.
- Strong teaming and organizational skills coupled with an assertive attitude to drive change.
- Proficient in the use of MS Access or similar tool for data retrieval and manipulation.
- Strong written and verbal skills, the ability to communicate with an Asian effectively.
- Reliability Engineering experience a plus.
